The Yard Theatre Announces Cast for Final Production in Current Space

The Yard Theatre has revealed the full cast for its upcoming production of Tennessee Williams’ “The Glass Menagerie,” which will be the final show in its current location before the theatre begins construction on a new purpose-built venue.

Veteran actress Sharon Small, known for her roles in “Nye” and “Good,” will lead the cast as Amanda Wingfield. She will be joined by Tom Varey (“Hamnet,” “A Taste of Honey”) as Tom Wingfield, while newcomers Eva Morgan and Jad Sayegh will make their professional stage debuts as Laura Wingfield and Jim O’Connor respectively.

The production, directed by The Yard’s Founder and Artistic Director Jay Miller, continues the theatre’s tradition of combining established talent with emerging artists. This commitment to nurturing new talent has been a cornerstone of The Yard’s work since its inception.

“The Glass Menagerie” tells the story of one memorable evening in the Wingfield household, when a special dinner guest arrives, promising the possibility of love and change. The creative team includes Cécile Trémolières as Set Designer and Josh Anio Grigg as Composer & Sound Designer, with additional magic brought to the stage by Illusion Designer Edward Hilsum.

This production marks a significant moment in The Yard’s history, as it prepares to move to a new venue scheduled to open in 2026. The show will run from February 28 to April 21, 2025, with tickets starting from £10. In keeping with the theatre’s accessibility initiatives, £5 tickets will be available on the door for audiences aged 27 and under through their No Empty Seats program.

The staging of this American classic represents both an end and a beginning for The Yard Theatre, as it prepares to enter a new chapter in its evolution while maintaining its commitment to bold programming and support for emerging talent.
