An advertisement for a clothing brand featured reality TV stars Vicky Pattison and Ercan Ramadan on their wedding day and has been prohibited for promoting smoking. The ad, shared on their Instagram accounts in October, showed the groom and groomsmen smoking cigars. The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) upheld two complaints, stating that the ads were irresponsible. The ASA ruling mentioned that the video portrayed smoking in an appealing way, implying that it was part of a glamorous lifestyle. Despite the ban, the ads are still visible on their Instagram accounts, but they cannot be displayed in the same format again. The ASA also criticized Ramadan for failing to disclose that the video was an advertisement and for not responding to their inquiries. The ASA instructed Endrick Clothing Ltd and Ercan Ramadan to ensure that future ads were socially responsible and did not endorse or encourage smoking. Vicky Pattison confirmed that any future posts featuring Endrick Clothing would be labeled as ads.
