Blenheim Palace is offering visitors a taste of romance this February with specially themed dining experiences in its newly restored Orangery and historic Walled Garden.
The UNESCO World Heritage Site has announced a luxury Valentine’s afternoon tea running from February 14-16, featuring an array of sophisticated treats including duck bon bons with beetroot ketchup and crab tartlets with brown crab mayonnaise. The £60 per person experience includes a glass of pink fizz and will be served in the recently renovated Orangery.
For those seeking a more casual dining option, the Palace’s Walled Garden Pizzeria will offer heart-shaped wood-fired pizzas on Valentine’s Day itself, with couples able to enjoy two pizzas, a side dish and pink fizz for £20.
The Valentine’s celebrations come as Blenheim marks its 75th anniversary of first opening to the public. The Palace is currently undertaking its most significant roof restoration in history, with the £10.4 million project being funded by visitor contributions.
“Britain’s Greatest Palace provides the ultimate Valentine’s setting,” says a Palace spokesperson. “Couples can follow in the footsteps of Winston Churchill, who proposed to Clementine Hozier at the Temple of Diana, or explore three centuries of history in the State Rooms.”
The Palace is also offering Valentine’s gifts through its shop, including its signature gin at £38.95 and luxury chocolates at £13.95. Advance booking is recommended for the Orangery dining experiences, while the pizzeria will accept walk-ins subject to availability.
Visitors can support the ongoing restoration project while enjoying either a two-course lunch at £19 or three courses for £26, with special Valentine’s dishes available in the Orangery throughout the period.
Walk-ins to the Walled Garden Pizzeria, and bookings are advised for the Orangery, and can be made here: https://www.blenheimpalace.com/visitus/plan-your-perfect-day/valentines-day.html
