The Tower of London Ice Rink is Back with Covid-19 Secure Measures

September 21, 2020 by editor Leave a Comment

Ice-skating returns to the Tower of London this winter with its largest rink ever.

Tickets are now on sale for the atmospheric open-air ice rink, which will feature an even larger ice rink giving skaters more room to take in the spectacular views of the iconic fortress in the heart of the city.

New measures have been introduced this year to make sure that everybody can enjoy the Tower of London Ice Rink safely. There will be hygiene standards fit for a king or queen, with enhanced cleaning regimes and hand washing sanitation facilities available. Meanwhile staggered skate sessions will ensure fewer people on the ice at any one time.

After taking a spin on the ice, visitors can tuck into a range of festive goodies and beverages at the Ice Rink Café and Bar with the heated spectator area the perfect spot to relax and soak up the festive atmosphere. This year also welcomes the return of the popular Skate and Unwind package for adults which includes an alcoholic beverage.

With over 1,000 years of history waiting to be discovered at the Tower of London, visitors can make a whole day of it and explore inside the fortress’ walls, home of the awe-inspiring Crown Jewels, Beefeaters and ravens.

Rob Derry, Managing Director of Events at Arena, the ice rink management company said: “The safety of our guests is always paramount, so we’ve taken a host of measures to make the ice rink COVID-19 secure all comply with the Gold Standard for COVID-secure temporary ice rink attractions, which has been created by a consortium of industry experts and incorporates measures that are in line with, or exceed, government guidelines.” .
