Experience Oxfordshire announces launch of Escape the Everyday campaign

Experience Oxfordshire has created user-friendly itineraries to encourage people to visit the county as part of its Escape the Everyday campaign.

Working closely with local tourism businesses, the initiative promotes trips to Oxford, the county’s waterways, countryside and the best heritage, culture, food and entertainment on offer.

“We have some wonderful tourism partners involved in this campaign that visitors can enjoy, businesses who have shown huge resilience and impressive abilities to adapt during an extremely difficult past year,” said Hayley Beer-Gamage, chief executive of Experience Oxfordshire.

“We are delighted to be able to showcase the wonderful products we have across Oxfordshire and collaborate with partners to bring world class experiences.” she added.

Visitors planning a trip to the county need look no further than Experience Oxfordshire, which is the official Destination Management Organisation for the county.

You can plan anything from a hotel stay or a visit to a restaurant, museum, afternoon tea or an Oxford Official Walking Tour – find what you want at www.experienceoxfordshire.org

Giles Dobson, director of Oxford River Cruises said: “The Escape the Everyday campaign is a hugely important tool in bringing more people back to enjoy the stunning waterways around Oxfordshire.”

“While we’ve had the privilege of enjoying them and their surroundings where possible during the past year, a trip aboard one of our luxury passenger vessels can be one of the most rewarding parts of your visit and we can’t wait to see more people joining us through the year as they explore the area.

“It’s our pleasure to be involved in this campaign to support that vision and to be in partnership with Experience Oxfordshire.”

With so much on offer all year round, visitors are encouraged to share experiences of their trip to #EscapeTheEveryday and #ExperienceOxfordshire.

A spokesman from designer shopping outlet Bicester Village added: “It’s a fantastic opportunity to collaborate with Experience Oxfordshire for this campaign and re-ignite the region’s visitor numbers in the wake of the last year.

“At Bicester Village we’re dedicated to providing a warm welcome to all our visitors together with a safe and pleasant shopping experience, whilst enjoying the many delights of our beautiful region.”

“Our coveted brand partners have so much on offer and we’re thrilled to be a part of the Escape the Everyday campaign to support them and the wider tourism recovery for the area.”

All venues are taking measures to keep visitors safe during their visit – look out for Visit England’s “We’re Good To Go” logo and Safe Travels stamp, stating which businesses have received this accreditation for adhering to Government and Public Health guidance, and have made changes to their day-to-day.

Across Oxfordshire, over 500 businesses have now achieved the Visit England industry standard.
