At home, on your phone, on the throne: Digital pharmacy targets London commuters with latest campaign

August 12, 2021 by editor Leave a Comment

Digital pharmacy www.medino.com are targeting London commuters with their new ‘Out of Home’ marketing campaign. For two weeks, commencing Monday the 9th of August, there will be digital advertisements all across London, located at various rail and tube stations, including Waterloo, Victoria, King’s Cross and Paddington Station, as well as on bus shelters and billboards around the city.

‘At home, on your phone, on the throne’ is the message of the company’s latest marketing campaign, highlighting their recent findings that 35% of screen time is clocked up while on the toilet. Also known as the pharmacy in your phone, the team want to highlight that Britons don’t need to visit their GP or high street pharmacy if they’re feeling a little ill, or require some over-the-counter medication, and that they can order this from the comfort of their own home – especially ideal right now with many still choosing to limit their outdoor contact. On the toilet, on the sofa or even in bed, the website is open 24/7, with the option of next day delivery.

From the standard cold and flu medication, wart removers and sexual health products, right through to DNA kits to help diagnose health conditions and defects, the online pharmacy is home to thousands of products, with UK-wide delivery available.

Over the last month alone, London residents accounted for the most amount of traffic to the website; more than 70% of London-based website visits were new to the site, bringing in a total of 67,372 new customers.

What’s more, throughout August, medino are giving back to their customers and celebrating the ongoing successful vaccine roll out through the UK by offering a 10% discount to anyone who has had their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

To claim the discount, all UK adults (aged 18 and over) have to do is upload a photo of their vaccination card to Instagram, tagging @wearemedino and using the hashtag #gotyourvac. Once it’s posted, the team at medino will be in touch via Instagram to give those who have shared their card the unique discount link. For those with private profiles, meaning the team won’t be able to see the Instagram feed post, or likewise for those not wanting to share an image of their vaccination card publicly, they can instead email the team at info@medino.com with their card to gain the unique discount link.

The team at medino are aware that proof of vaccination varies across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. If anyone is in an area which doesn’t offer vaccination cards, they can also email the team to claim their discount.

The 10% vaccination discount is running until midnight on the 31st of August, 2021. More information on the discount can be found here: https://www.medino.com/policy/covid-vaccine-discount

Giulia Guerrini, the lead pharmacist at www.medino.com, says:

“Many people are still wary of carrying out their commute without face masks and are still limiting their time around other people as cases of covid-19 continue to rise, so to be able to use your phone to order various necessities, from your weekly food shopping through to your medication, is a key lifeline for many people. With most of our customers being based in London, we’re looking to target them on their commute, as the UK moves towards a new normal, highlighting how they may not need to make an appointment with their local GP or stand in queues at the pharmacy for a little pain relief or supplement. We’re hoping that our catchy marketing campaign will capture the attention of commuters all across the city and word spreads – especially to those who are still uncomfortable leaving the house for any longer than they have to. Want to do your food shopping or order your medication on the toilet or in the bath? We don’t care. It’s all about making your life as easy as possible.”
