New Immersive British Music Experience to Open in Camden This May

A major new attraction celebrating six decades of British music will open in Camden this May, featuring holograms, live performances and rare memorabilia from some of the country’s most iconic artists.

Live Odyssey, described by its creators as “what Voyage is to ABBA, but for all of British music,” will offer visitors a two-and-a-half-hour journey through British music history from the 1960s to the present day.

The attraction will feature live bands performing classics from artists including The Beatles, David Bowie, Oasis and Amy Winehouse, alongside cutting-edge technology including a hologram room that will launch with an exclusive performance by The Libertines.

Pete Doherty of The Libertines said: “British music thrives on its history and its ability to evolve. Being part of this is thrilling—it’s like stepping into the future while paying homage to the past.”

The Camden location will include six themed rooms representing different musical eras, with visitors entering via “The Clash steps” before exploring each decade’s sounds and cultural moments.

Gary Prosser, Creative Director of Live Odyssey, told reporters: “Live Odyssey is more than just a venue; it’s a time capsule for British music. By combining holograms of the UK’s most iconic acts and live performances, we aim to bridge generations of music lovers.”

The experience will display previously unseen footage and photography from Britain’s music scene alongside heritage items including David Bowie’s microphone from his Glastonbury performance and the leads used during the recording of John Lennon’s “Imagine.”

Julia Baird, John Lennon’s sister, commented on the exhibition: “I’m overawed to know that these wires James has included in his work were part of the creative process that became the iconic song, Imagine.”

The attraction has secured endorsements from several music icons, including Mike Joyce of The Smiths, who said: “I’m proud that The Smiths are part of the amazing Live Odyssey experience. Looking amazing and I cannot wait to visit.”

A portion of ticket sales will support the Music Venue Trust, a charity dedicated to protecting grassroots music venues across the UK. Mark Davyd, CEO of the Trust, welcomed the partnership: “British music has always drawn strength from its roots, and we are grateful that Live Odyssey will be supporting MVT in their mission.”

The experience concludes with a 3D immersive journey featuring visuals set to music by Queen’s Roger Taylor.

Early bird tickets are available until 31st March for £25, with the attraction opening to the public in May. More information can be found at www.liveodyssey.co.uk.
