A five-star Cornish hotel has added new dates for its festive afternoon tea by the sea this Christmas.
Originally running from December 1st to 23rd, The Headland in Newquay, will now also offer the delicate delights from December 27th to 30th due to popular demand.
The traditional tea will provide festive sandwiches, homemade scones with lashings of Cornish clotted cream and jam and Christmas fancies and cakes to celebrate the season.
Cakes include mulled wine trifle, cranberry macaroon, chocolate orange yule log, homemade Christmas cake and of course, a mince pie.
The Festive Afternoon Tea is served in the hotel’s multi award-winning restaurant, The Samphire, with dramatic views over the Atlantic Ocean.
“We are enjoying putting our fun festive twist on the classic afternoon tea and invite guests to take home a little slice of Headland Christmas spirit,” said The Headland’s Director Veryan Palmer.
“After the disruption of last Christmas, people have been able to get together with family and friends. We have now added more dates to give guests the opportunity to enjoy a delicious and indulgent treat while admiring the spectacular ocean views,” she added.
Guests can also take home a decoration from The Samphire’s wonderfully huge Christmas tree as a reminder of their festive tea by the sea.
The restaurant offers a warm welcome to visitors who can take refuge from the crashing waves by the fire and can add a little more sparkle to the occasion with a glass of champagne or an afternoon tea cocktail.
The Festive Afternoon Tea follows on from the success of The Witches Afternoon Tea held during autumn.
Tickets for the Festive Afternoon Tea are priced at £35 per person on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and £30 Monday to Thursday. Booking is essential.
