Multi-award-winning comedian and actor Omid Djalili is to bring his celebrated stand-up show Namaste to the London Palladium on 11 February 2027, marking the conclusion of an extensive international tour that has already taken him to Canada, the United States, Australia and Singapore.
The show, presented by Bound and Gagged Comedy, represents one of the most high-profile stand-up engagements of the 2027 West End season, with the London Palladium — one of Britain’s most storied variety venues, seating more than 2,000 people on Argyll Street in the heart of the West End — providing a fitting grand finale to what has been a globe-spanning run.
A Bow to Inner Anger
The title of the show carries deliberate irony. Namaste is a Sanskrit greeting widely associated with calm and goodwill, but its literal translation is “bowing to you”. Djalili uses that duality as the engine of the performance: confronted by climate change, terrorism, financial instability, oceanic pollution and the depletion of natural resources, he has chosen to set aside serenity and channel his fury instead. The show sees him, in the words of the production, “peacefully and joyfully control that rage and unleash a torrent of comedic vitriol upon the current state of this dangerously messed up planet”, with no government spared and no tyrant left unchallenged.
The approach is characteristic of Djalili’s long-established style — blending sharp political commentary with high-energy physical performance and a willingness to take on subjects that other comedians might sidestep.
A Career Spanning Comedy, Film and the West End Stage
Djalili, who is of Iranian heritage, has been one of Britain’s most distinctive comic voices since his breakthrough appearances at the Edinburgh Festival in the 1990s. His stand-up accolades include the Time Out Award for Best Stand-Up, a Perrier Award nomination and the Edinburgh Award Panel Prize. On screen, he won a Best Actor award at the Turin Film Festival for his lead role in the 2010 film The Infidel, a comedy about a British Muslim who discovers he was adopted and is in fact Jewish.
His stage work has been equally varied. He has taken on two of musical theatre’s most demanding roles — Fagin in Oliver! and Reb Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof — to critical acclaim in the West End. More recently, he appeared as one of the Wise Men in the award-winning film Journey to Bethlehem, played Bridget Christie’s husband in Channel 4’s highly praised series The Change, and hosted two series of Winning Combination on ITV1.
UK Tour Dates and Tickets
Before the Palladium date, Djalili will perform Namaste at a series of venues across England. The UK leg of the tour opens at the King’s Hall in Ilkley on 29 October 2026, followed by dates at the Lyceum in Crewe (10 November), The Lowry in Salford (11 November), Assembly Hall in Worthing (12 November), the Royal Spa Centre in Leamington Spa (13 November), Story House in Chester (19 January 2027) and the Hippodrome in Darlington (20 January 2027), before the Palladium finale on 11 February 2027.
