The London Borough of Haringey has been crowned overall champion at the 2026 London Youth Games, claiming the prestigious Jubilee Trophy by the narrowest of margins while simultaneously retaining the ParaGames crown for young athletes with disabilities and special educational needs.
TeamHaringey finished the competition on 1,024 points, edging out reigning champions Bromley by just two points in a remarkably tight contest. Havering came third on 973 points, with last year’s runners-up Richmond upon Thames fourth on 946 points and neighbouring borough Hackney fifth on 924 points.
Gold Medals Across Seven Disciplines
Haringey collected gold medals in seven events: boys’ cricket, boys’ para athletics, boys’ para football, girls’ inclusive basketball, girls’ para athletics, girls’ para football, and tennis. The borough also claimed silver medals in indoor rowing and under-13 girls’ football, along with bronze medals in boys’ inclusive basketball and girls’ volleyball. Further notable results included fourth-place finishes in boys’ athletics, diving and girls’ para swimming.
The London Youth Games is one of the largest multi-sport youth competitions in the world, bringing together children and young people from all 33 London boroughs each year. Boroughs field teams across dozens of sports, accumulating points towards the overall Jubilee Trophy — making consistent top-three finishes across multiple sports and multiple years an considerable organisational and athletic achievement.
Haringey’s latest triumph extends a remarkable run of consistency: the borough has not finished outside the top three in any of the six active competition years since 2019, winning outright in 2022, 2023 and now 2026, finishing second in 2019 and 2024, and third in 2025.
ParaGames Title Retained
Particularly noteworthy was Haringey’s retention of the ParaGames title, awarded to the borough whose athletes with disabilities and SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) perform best across para sport disciplines. Haringey had won that competition for the first time in 2025, making back-to-back victories a significant milestone for the borough’s inclusive sport programme.
