Tony-Nominated Production Marks 30th Anniversary
The show originally premiered in Toronto in 1996 before transferring to Broadway in 2000, where it received five Tony Award nominations. The London production is being staged to mark the musical’s 30th anniversary, with producer Adam Blanshay Productions partnering with the original Canadian producers David and Hannah Mirvish.
John Caird, who previously co-adapted and co-directed the original production of Les Misérables and most recently helmed the acclaimed stage version of Spirited Away at the London Coliseum, will co-direct the production. He will be joined in the director’s chair by Broadway performer Megan McGinnis, known for her roles in Beauty and the Beast, Little Women and Beetlejuice.
The creative team also includes choreographer Georgina Lamb, set and costume designer Morgan Large, musical director Ben Kubiak, lighting designer James Whiteside, and sound designer Andrew Johnson. Tickets are priced between £20 and £47.50, with a pioneers’ preview on 28 August available for £10. Press night is scheduled for 8 September 2026.
